Condoms and ORS: Pune Pub’s ‘New Year Invitation’ Goes Viral

A controversy has cropped over a Pune pub allegedly sending condoms and ORS sachets as part of invitations for a New Year’s Eve party, prompting the police to record statements from invitees. The Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress filed a complaint with Pune Police, demanding action against the pub’s management after the invitation visuals, featuring condoms and ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution), went viral.

“We are not against pubs and nightlife. However, the marketing strategy to attract youngsters is against the traditions of Pune city. We demand strict action by the police against the pub management,” stated Akshay Jain, a member of the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress. A senior police officer confirmed that a complaint was received on Sunday. “We have recorded statements of several invitees attending the event,” he said.
