CM Yogi credits BJP for India’s enhanced global standing

In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded India’s global standing, asserting that the country’s reputation has significantly improved over the past nine years. He credited this change to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) policies, during a “tiffin meeting”, a gathering inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at enhancing camaraderie among party workers.
Adityanath emphasised the dramatic change in India’s narrative since 2014, a time when the populace was reportedly sceptical and resentful of the central government. He recalled the era of prevalent corruption cases, security threats, and rampant unrest, contrasting it with the current scenario where India’s progress is more evident and appreciated. The Chief Minister declared that India’s borders are secure and the nation’s influence is expanding globally, as exemplified by Prime Minister Modi’s recent overseas visit. Adityanath emphasised that the BJP’s efforts are not limited to India’s upliftment but extend to promoting global welfare.
Adityanath noted that India’s economic progress is undeniable. Now standing as the world’s fifth-largest economy, the country is on track to become the third-largest within a few years. Regions previously plagued by terrorism and militancy, such as Kashmir and the northeastern states, are now experiencing peace and progress under BJP governments. The Chief Minister highlighted the decline in Naxalism from 120 affected districts to just a few. Adityanath also celebrated Modi’s recognition as a global leader and his representation of Varanasi in the Lok Sabha, boosting the city’s global prominence. Adityanath attributed Uttar Pradesh’s emergence from the ‘Bimaru’ state category to Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, positioning it as a beacon of development, security, and good governance. He expressed confidence in Uttar Pradesh becoming India’s growth engine in the near future. The “tiffin meeting” is part of the BJP’s larger public outreach effort in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
