This initiative aims to provide healthcare benefits to a larger section of the population in Haryana. “By extending the coverage to families with an annual income of Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh and allowing them to avail treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, the government is ensuring that more people can access quality healthcare services without facing the burden of high medical expenses,” CM Khattar said.
The Chief Minister said that to avail of the benefits, families will have to pay an annual contribution of only Rs 1,500. This expansion will undoubtedly help in improving the overall health and well-being of the people of Haryana, and an additional eight lakh families will be able to benefit from this extended coverage CM Khattar said at a press conference after launching the portal in Fatehabad.
This portal will be formally operational from today and will be operational for a month. The Chief Minister said that families with an annual income of Rs 1.20 lakh or less, as per the SECC-2011 data are included in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This aimed to benefit approximately 9.36 lakh families within the state. To further extend the scheme’s reach and inclusivity, the state government introduced the Chirayu Haryana Yojana. Under this, the income limit for eligibility was raised to Rs. 1.80 lakh per annum, resulting in over 28 lakh families benefiting from it, CM Khattar said.
Around 38 lakh families will ultimately benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Chirayu Haryana Yojana, as per projections. The CM said that 965 hospitals in the state would be on the panel, including 175 government and private, where families would be able to avail of benefits under the Ayushman Yojana.
