On Saturday at 9 pm, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recently caught a Vietnamese national with prohibited red sandalwood, which weighed around 11.970 kg, worth 25 lakhs at Delhi’s IGI airport.
As per official statement, it was on the basis of behaviour detection, CISF surveillance and Airport’s intelligence staff, questionable behavior from a non-native traveler in the check-in vicinity came into the radar.
Later, he was taken to random checking point for examining his luggage. After checking his bag, some images of two pieces log were seen.
Eventually, two-pieces of log were detected, which were inside his bag. Then, customs officials, inspected two logs and expressed concerns regarding their authenticity.
As a result, CISF contacted forest officials, to verify logs’ authenticity, which the latter confirmed to be red sandalwood.
Then, the passenger identified as Nguyen Thanh Tung, who was travelling to Hanoi, was arrested.
