Chinese FM Wang Yi to Visit India for 24th Border Talks on Monday

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrives in India on August 18 for boundary talks with NSA Ajit Doval. The visit, amid lingering Ladakh tensions, could mark a step toward easing strained diplomatic and military relations.

Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yi is expected to visit India from August 18-20 for the 24th round of talks on the long pending boundary issue, as announced by the Ministry of foreign affairs of China.

Wang Yi is a member of the political bureau of the communist party of China, Central committee and China special representative on the boundary issue. He will meet the Indian national security advisor. Ajit Doval. The two of them will represent their respective countries and the special representatives mechanism for resolving border issues.

According to the MFA, India invited Wong to discuss the border issues.

This visit is significant for both the nations as the military diplomatic talks after the 2020 stand-off in eastern Ladakh

Recently, there are signs of easing tensions. Last year, both the countries reached a partial agreement on disengagement in Ladakh. Along with this, China reopen the Kailash Mansarovar yatra as India resumed issuing visa to Chinese tourists.

Once high-level visit is being closely washed by both the countries as it may lay the foundation for border cooperation.
