Child saved by AIIMS Delhi doctors now in critical condition

14-month-old infant who was saved by a team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi on Sunday’s Bengaluru-Delhi Vistara aircraft is currently in critical condition in a hospital in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on a ventilator and numerous life-saving medications.
A critical medical situation arose involving an infant passenger, a 14-month-old baby, travelling on Flight No. UK814 of Vistara Airlines from Bangalore to Delhi. Co-passengers with medical backgrounds on board immediately started life-saving procedures by administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the infant passenger, showing an exemplary level of readiness and professionalism, according to a statement from Aejaz Shami, deputy general manager (communications) of Nagpur-based KIMS-Kingsway Hospitals.
The airline personnel successfully coordinated with Nagpur airport officials for an emergency landing as the situation became urgent. «KIMS-Kingsway Hospital›s ambulance was on call to ensure the infant passenger›s smooth transfer to KIMS-Kingsway Hospital. The statement added
«At current, the patient is admitted under a senior consultant in paediatrics and neonatology. The patient is unconscious and in the critical stage of being on a ventilator and on several life-saving drugs. The parents and relatives are regularly counselled,» the statement read.
