A tragic incident occurred in Chhattisgarh’s Mungeli district on Thursday when a chimney at a smelting plant collapsed, leaving one person dead and another injured, while two others remain missing.
Mungeli Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel confirmed that the collapse took place at a plant in the Saragaon area. Preliminary reports indicate that the silo—an iron structure used to store bulk materials—crashed, trapping several workers beneath it.

Upon receiving the information, police initiated a rescue operation. Two injured workers were rescued and have been admitted to a hospital in Bilaspur, according to PTI.
Patel added that several workers are still believed to be trapped under the debris, and rescue teams are working diligently to locate and extract them.
