Chennai Police: BSP Leader K. Armstrong Killing Amid Gang Feud, Rule Out Politics

The Chennai police are investigating the tragic killing of Tamil Nadu Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief K. Armstrong. He was attacked by six assailants on motorcycles near his home in Perambur, Chennai, on Friday evening.

Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore spoke to the media, suggesting a possible link between K. Armstrong murder and a previous conflict involving gangster Arcot Suresh, who was killed last year in a suspected gang rivalry. Despite investigating different angles, Commissioner Rathore stated there was no clear threat against Armstrong before the attack. Armstrong, who had a licensed firearm, followed election rules by temporarily surrendering his weapon.

In response to the incident, the police quickly formed ten specialized teams and arrested eight suspects within hours. Commissioner Rathore assured the public that every aspect of the case, including potential motives and conspiracies, is being carefully examined.

Meanwhile, supporters of Armstrong allege a planned conspiracy in his killing and are demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry. They staged a protest outside Chennai’s Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, where Armstrong’s body is awaiting autopsy. Armstrong, a former Chennai Corporation Councilor, was 52 years old.

The ongoing investigation continues to attract attention, with the police committed to uncovering the truth behind Armstrong’s tragic death amid widespread speculation and calls for justice.
