Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, announced the Centre’s readiness to discuss critical national matters including Operation Sindoor in the monsoon session of Parliament commencing Monday. Addressing an all-party meeting chaired by Union Minister JP Nadda, Rijiju emphasized the importance of constructive coordination between the government and the Opposition to ensure smooth parliamentary proceedings.

“We are very much open to discussing important issues like Operation Sindoor. Parliament should function through mutual understanding,” Rijiju stated.

On this note, Rijiju said that the government would take the issue on the floor of the House. When asked regarding the opposition's intent to raise Trump's remarks, he said: "The government will respond appropriately in Parliament."

Rijiju, who is also the minister for parliamentary affairs, added that a motion for Justice Varma's removal had already garnered substantial support from the parliamentarians.

He said: "Number of signatures of MPs for motion to remove Justice Varma has already crossed 100."

Rising Tensions: Trump Mediation Row, SIR Probe, and Security Lapses

Opposition parties plan to confront the government on multiple controversial issues, including:

·       Donald Trump’s alleged claim of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan

·       Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, alleged as fraudulent

·       Recent terror attack in Pahalgam, questioning national security preparedness

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi asserted that Modi's statements need to be addressed by the prime minister in Parliament directly so as to clarify the stand of the government with respect to the Pahalgam incident and to the SIR controversy.

Sanjay Singh From AAP reiterated the fears about electoral irregularities and called it a "poll scam" and threatening to the very integrity of the elections.

Judiciary in Focus: Motion to Remove Justice Varma Gains Traction

Rijiju went on to add that more than a hundred MPs have backed the motion against Justice Varma, which indicates considerable parliamentary momentum behind the proposal. It is likely that the matter will see more heated debate in the session.

The speech is expected to be stormy, yet the government has reiterated its position regarding the future debate-oriented legislative environment The opposition, irrespective of party lines, is likely to pick issues of a popular nature to examine executive accountability and perhaps push for transparency.

The monsoon session is testing likely lights on the paradigm of parliamentary democracy, with competing narratives regarding national security, electoral integrity, and foreign policy at the core of legislative discourse.
