CBSE board exam for Class 10, 12 begins today

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced its class 10 and 12 examinations on Thursday across India and 26 other nations. According to CBSE, this year, over 39 lakh students from India and abroad will be appearing for the exams. In Delhi alone, 5,80,192 students will take the board examinations across 877 examination centers. Given the prevailing circumstances in Delhi, CBSE has advised students to leave for their examination centers early to ensure timely arrival. The board has recommended utilizing metro services, which are operating smoothly, for transportation.

The class 10 board exams are scheduled from February 15, 2024, to March 13, 2024, while the class 12 exams will run from February 15, 2024, to April 2, 2024. “The preparation is complete, but the nervousness is high,” expressed a class 10 student to ANI. Today, February 15, marks the beginning of the CBSE board exams, with only a few students taking their exams. Specifically, class 10 students have their painting exam today, as reported by an examiner to ANI.

Students have been instructed to carry their admit cards and stationery. As per COVID protocol, they are allowed to bring sanitizers but are prohibited from bringing any printed material. In the 2022 Class XII exams, girls once again outperformed boys, achieving a pass percentage of 90%. Out of 17 lakh students who appeared for the class 12 exams, more than 90% of girls passed. In the Class X exams, the overall pass percentage was 93.12% in 2022. Notably, girl students recorded a pass percentage of 94.25%, while for boys, it was 92.27%.

In 2022 Class XII exams, Girls had outshined boys again with girls recording 90 per cent pass percentage. 17 lakh students had appeared for the class 12 board exams and that girls had excelled again since more than 90 per cent of females who took the exam passed.

Meanwhile in Class X, of the total students who appeared for CBSE Class 10 board exam in 2022, 93.12 per cent qualified. The overall pass percentage in Class 10 results was 93.12 per cent. The pass percentage of girl students was 94.25 per cent while 92.27 per cent boys had passed.
