CBI Hits Sanjay Roy With 10 Polygraph Questions, This Is What He Said

Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has maintained his innocence during a polygraph test conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to India Today, Roy reportedly fled the scene upon discovering the victim’s body, but these claims have not been independently verified by The Daily Guardian.

Details of the Polygraph Test

The polygraph test, held on August 25 at Kolkata’s Presidency Central Jail where Roy is currently detained, involved 10 questions posed by the CBI. The test was overseen by three polygraph experts and the investigating officer. Despite an initial confession following his arrest on August 10, Roy has since retracted his statement, claiming he is being framed.

Roy reportedly told the CBI during the test, “I didn’t commit the murder. I ran from the seminar hall after seeing the body.” However, the polygraph results suggested several deceptive responses. Notably, Polygraph results are not admissible as court evidence.

CBI’s Findings

The CBI has concluded that the doctor was not gang-raped and has identified Roy as the sole suspect. The investigation is nearing its end, with charges expected to be filed soon. The agency has also sent Roy’s DNA for further examination at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.

In addition to the ongoing investigation, the CBI has conducted over 100 interviews and 10 polygraph tests. Charges related to financial irregularities have also been filed against Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
