The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Head Constable from the Gandhi Nagar police station in Delhi for bribery. The accused was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from a complainant.
The arrest followed a complaint against the Head Constable, alleging that he demanded a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to refrain from taking action on the complainant’s grievance. After negotiations, the accused agreed to accept Rs. 75,000 as the bribe.
In a swift operation, the CBI laid a trap and apprehended the Head Constable while he was accepting Rs. 40,000 in bribe money. The CBI is conducting searches at the accused’s premises as part of the ongoing investigation.
