Car with Punjab plates used in Nuh riots

A vehicle that was used in the violence in Nuh district, Haryana has been traced to the Mansa district of Punjab. The car was registered under a Punjab number to one Fauji Nirmal Singh, a resident of Dallewal village. Singh had reportedly sold the vehicle after an accident over a year ago. While the company compensated Singh for the vehicle, they Maintained the vehicle’s paperwork in his name. The company later sold the car to one Haider Ali, a resident of Delhi but did not change the name on the required documents even over a year and a half later.
Villagers from Mansa have also come out in support of Singh, saying there is “no connection” between Nirmal Singh and the car. They further said that Singh therefore was innocent even if the vehicle was used for criminal activity,
In a video that surfaced during the investigation, a white Hyundai car with a Punjba license plate was seen leading a crowd of rioters. The crowd in the video is heard chanting religious slogans. The video also shows the rioters pressing on, despite the presence of police vehicles. Further probing revealed that the video was shot on the Delhi-Alwar highway, which passes through Nuh. The day of violence, around noon, around 25 rioters had gathered at Hodal Chowk and proceeded about 2 kilometres on the highway to reach Tiranga Park. As they moved towards Tiranga Park, people from different areas of Nuh city started joining them.
By the time they reached Tiranga Park, the number had exceeded 250. Police are now searching for the person driving the vehicle.
