Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader from Haryana’s Ambala, Harbilas Singh Rajjumajra, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Naraingarh on Friday evening, police confirmed on Saturday.

Rajjumajra was traveling in a car with his two friends, Puneet and Gugal. The armed attackers opened fire at the vehicle leaving Rajjumajra critically injured, while Puneet received bullet injuries. The victims were taken to PGIMER, Chandigarh, where Rajjumajra was declared dead the same night. According to sources, Puneet is stable.

The attackers have not been identified yet. SHO Naraingarh, Lalit Kumar, reached the spot immediately to start an investigation. Superintendent of Police, Ambala, S.S. Bhoria said that a special police team has been formed to arrest the culprits.

Local BSP leaders in Ambala have condemned the incident and called for the immediate action of the authorities to arrest the attackers.
