BSF Recovers Drone, Suspected Narcotics in Tarn Taran District

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a small drone along with a packet of suspected narcotics in Tarn Taran district on Sunday, following specific intelligence input.

According to a press release by the BSF, the search operation concluded around 8:10 AM with the successful recovery of the drone and a packet of suspected heroin, weighing approximately 536 grams. The narcotics were found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, and the packet was equipped with a plastic ring and an illuminating stick. The recovery took place on the premises of Radha Swami Satsang, near the village of Naushera Dhalla in Tarn Taran.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic. The BSF stated that the operation was launched early in the morning on September 1, based on specific intelligence about the presence of a drone in the border area of Tarn Taran district.

The Punjab Frontier of the BSF praised the quick response of its troops, noting that their timely action successfully thwarted yet another attempt to smuggle narcotics into Punjab using drone technology from across the border.

This incident follows a similar operation last month when security forces recovered a drone during a joint search operation in the border area of Tarn Taran. On August 7, acting on the information provided by the BSF intelligence wing, BSF troops, and Punjab Police conducted a successful search operation in the area, resulting in the recovery of a fallen drone.

The BSF continues to maintain high vigilance along the border to prevent such illegal activities.
