BSF Raising Day 2024: PM Modi Honors Force’s Dedication and Valor

On the occasion of BSF Raising Day 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Border Security Force for its unwavering dedication and exceptional service in ensuring the safety and security of the nation. The BSF, which marks its 60th Raising Day this year, was established in 1965.

In his message, PM Modi highlighted the BSF’s critical role as a vital line of defense, commending its personnel for their vigilance and courage. “Warm wishes to the Border Security Force on their Raising Day! The BSF stands as a critical line of defense, embodying courage, dedication, and exceptional service. Their vigilance and courage contribute to the safety and security of our nation,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The BSF, celebrating its 60th anniversary, reaffirmed its commitment to its motto, with the force’s personnel vowing to continue serving the nation with pride. In a message on social media, the BSF declared, “As #BSFturns60 today, we, the Seema Prahari, proudly rededicate ourselves to the service of our Nation.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the BSF, acknowledging their sacrifices and courage. “The soldiers of @BSF_India have safeguarded Bharat’s honor and ambitions with fierce determination, never hesitating to lay down their lives. Their valor and sacrifices are a constant source of inspiration for generations of patriots,” he wrote on X.

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, also expressed her gratitude to the BSF personnel, writing, “…Your unwavering valor and sacrifices safeguard Bharat’s honor and inspire generations to serve selflessly. A heartfelt salute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice. Jai Hind.”

The BSF, the world’s largest border-guarding force, protects India’s 6,386.36 km long international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. On its Raising Day, the BSF reiterated its commitment to its lifelong duty to the nation.
