HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has intensified its attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanding an immediate response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Union government over alleged financial irregularities involving Rs 1,000 crore.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) alleged that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously claiming that the Telangana Chief Minister was collecting illegal taxes, the BJP-led Central government has remained silent and failed to initiate action. He questioned why central investigative agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax Department have not acted despite what he described as “open allegations of corruption.”
Addressing the media after visiting party leaders lodged in Adilabad jail, KTR accused the Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, of prioritizing financial exploitation over governance. He alleged that thousands of crores collected from the people of Telangana were being diverted to leaders of the Gandhi family in Delhi. KTR claimed that the Chief Minister’s ability to allegedly arrange Rs 1,000 crore within just two years raised serious concerns about the scale of financial misappropriation.
