Byculla police detained a 22-year-old kickboxing trainer on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on several occasions over the last four months.
According to investigators, the guy taught kickboxing to minors. He taught the girl self-defense using kickboxing techniques in the refuge area of the residential tower where she lives with her family.
According to authorities, the accused sexually molested the girl on several occasions between February and June of this year. “He first approached the minor for sexual favors. “When she refused, he sexually assaulted her,” a police officer stated.
The youngster recently told her mother about her ordeal, which she had not previously disclosed to anybody. The mother went to the police on Monday.
The child informed authorities that the accused sexually attacked her at a boxing studio where he taught his students.
“On the girl’s compaint, we arrested the accused on Monday and produced him before a court that sent him to police custody up till July 5,” said a police officer from the Byculla police station.
The accused has been charged under Sections 376, 376(2)(n), 354 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Police are also investigating whether the accused targeted other girls who he taught kickboxing.
