On Friday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) control room received an alarming call from an unidentified individual who claimed that RDX had been planted at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). In response, the police, along with the bomb squad, conducted thorough searches across all CSMT stations. Fortunately, no explosives were found during the inspection.
The GRP immediately notified local police and the bomb squad upon receiving the threat. Despite their prompt actions, the search yielded no evidence of explosives. The authorities are now working to trace the caller, who reportedly made the threat using a mobile phone that initially appeared to be located near CSMT but was later switched off. Investigations revealed that the number used in the call was associated with locations in both Mumbai and Bihar. Efforts are ongoing to identify and locate the individual responsible for the threat.
