BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ Set to Cover 5,400 Kilometers Across Jharkhand Ahead of Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to kick off its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ (Change Rally) ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, aiming to challenge the Hemant Soren government. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the rally today, September 20, from Bhognadih in Sahibganj.

The ‘Parivartan Yatra’ will run from September 20 to October 3, during which the BJP intends to highlight the alleged corruption and failures of the JMM-Congress coalition government. The party is calling for liberation from what it describes as a corrupt regime.

Objectives of the ‘Parivartan Yatra’

The BJP plans to conduct six ‘Parivartan Yatras’ across various divisions of Jharkhand, covering 5,400 kilometers and passing through all 81 assembly constituencies in 24 districts. This initiative aims to expose the shortcomings of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government, rallying public support with the slogan: “Neither will we tolerate, nor remain silent; we will bring change.”

Amit Shah will flag off the campaign, which will traverse all five divisions of Jharkhand: Santhal Pargana, Palamu, North Chotanagpur, South Chotanagpur, and Kolhan. The BJP emphasizes that the ‘Parivartan Yatra’ is not merely a political maneuver but a commitment to meaningful change in Jharkhand, focusing on development, employment, and social harmony.

Key Issues Highlighted

Liberation from Family Rule: The BJP has accused the Soren family of perpetuating nepotism and clinging to power since the formation of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in 1973. The party alleges that the family’s dominance has fostered a culture of favoritism in state politics.

Combating Corruption: The BJP claims that the Hemant Soren government is riddled with corruption, citing multiple scandals and the seizure of INR 17 crore from an associate of an IAS officer as evidence of systemic issues within the administration.

Justice for Criminals and Corrupt Individuals: If elected, the BJP pledges to take strong action against criminals and corrupt officials, arguing that the current government has failed to address these issues.

Uplifting Tribal Communities: The BJP has criticized the Soren administration for neglecting the development of tribal communities, despite having secured tribal votes to come to power. The party is particularly concerned about the impact of illegal immigration on these communities.

Industrial and Infrastructure Development: The BJP argues that the Hemant Soren government has not effectively developed industries and infrastructure in Jharkhand, despite substantial financial allocations for these initiatives.

Addressing Unemployment: Unemployment remains a pressing concern, with the BJP highlighting that Hemant Soren’s promise to create 500,000 jobs has not materialized. The tragic deaths of candidates during a recent recruitment test have intensified scrutiny on the government’s handling of employment issues.

Preserving Jharkhand’s Identity: The BJP asserts that Jharkhand’s cultural identity is under threat and calls for leadership change to protect the state’s heritage.

Strengthening BJP’s Presence

Through the ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ the BJP aims to deepen its connection with the electorate by addressing local issues and concerns. The party hopes to formulate policies that resonate with voters, fostering a more inclusive and participatory governance model in Jharkhand.
