BJP’s OBC Morcha protests outside Cong headquarters

The Delhi OBC unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest outside the Congress headquarters in the national capital. They protest against Congress’s decision to favour the Muslim community by depriving the rights of backward castes.

On Monday, April 29, 2024, Thousands of party workers of the OBC unit of the Delhi BJP demonstrated a protest outside Congress headquarters, under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Veerendra Sachdeva and Sunil Yadav. From Mandir Marg, they started the march to the Congress headquarters carrying banners and posters, where they broke through the barricades set up by the police, leading to their detention. During the protest, demonstrators expressed their discontent by burning an effigy of Rahul Gandhi.

During the protest, Delhi BJP Chief Veerendra Sachdeva said “The Congress has only worked to divide Hindus in the country by the name of caste.” He added that if the Congress party attempts to snatch away the reservation given to the OBC and SC/ST communities by the Constitution, then it will not be tolerated. Further, he said, “In Karnataka, 27% of reservations are for the OBC society, but overnight, the word ‘Muslim’ is added to it. From government jobs to all kinds of facilities, the Congress has favoured the Muslim community, which is also happening in Kerala and Telangana.”

Sunil Yadav, President of Delhi, BJP, OBC Morcha “Until Rahul Gandhi comes forward and apologises to the people, our struggle will continue.

Today, the Congress party wants to fight among us in the name of caste and keep talking separately to the Muslims. We will continue this struggle until Rahul Gandhi comes forward and apologises to the Hindu OBC society.”
