BJP to win more than 36 seats in upcoming assembly elections: Tripura CM

Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, is confident that the BJP will perform better in the upcoming state assembly polls than in previous elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new definition of politics and said that all the arithmetical calculations of the opposition parties would prove wrong because people don’t trust them.

The Chief Minister told ANI in an exclusive interview that the law and order situation has greatly improved during the BJP’s rule. Apart from this, improvements can be seen in several sectors, including railways, national highways, and internet connectivity.

“We got 36 seats in the last state assembly elections, and our alliance partner got 8 seats; we are confident that we will alone get more than 36 seats in the upcoming Tripura assembly elections,” he said. In the previous election, the BJP set a record by defeating the Left Front in its fortress.

Talking about the pre-poll alliance between the Congress and Left parties and how Tipra Motha is set to join any party after the results, Saha once again repeated that the opposition’s arithmetic will fail in front of the general public’s trust.

He went on to say that the opposition believes in traditional politics, whereas the BJP, led by PM Modi, believes in public service. Therefore, the party has been working around the clock to solve the problems of the general public.

Responding to a question on the alliance with Tipra Motha, The BJP leader clarified that it is not expected that there will be any alliance with this party.

The 60-member assembly elections in Tripura are scheduled to be held on February 16. The result of the Tripura polls, along with those in Meghalaya and Nagaland, will be declared on March 2.
