BJP Launches Campaign To Highlight Potholes Issues, Attributing AAP’s Incompetence

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a campaign to highlight the potholes on roads, attributing them to the incompetence and corruption of the Arvind Kejriwal government. The party placed “cut-outs” on the damaged roads with the message, “Congratulations Delhi! These potholes are brought to you by the most corrupt government.”Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, accompanied by the party’s MPs, district presidents, councilors, and state officials, hit the streets today, placing “cut-outs” at numerous locations across the city to highlight the issue of damaged roads.

In the presence of MP Praveen Khandelwal and Delhi BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Sachdeva revealed the poor condition of roads at Khari Baoli, Church Mission Road, and Old Delhi Railway Station Road. Addressing the public, Sachdeva stated that the party is exposing the false claims of the Kejriwal government, which has demonstrated 10 years of incompetence and corruption regarding Delhi’s roads. “We are exposing Chief Minister Atishi Marlena and her ministers, who are busy hosting media events while we reveal the true situation,” he said. Sachdeva further alleged that these potholes have existed for a decade, with MLAs demanding commissions of up to 35% under the guise of road construction. He noted that the roads around Old Delhi Railway Station, Church Mission Road, and Khari Baoli are all severely damaged. As a major commercial hub, the poor condition of roads in Chandni Chowk and Khari Baoli leaves a negative impression on visiting traders.

MP Praveen Khandelwal added that the BJP is raising the voice of Delhi’s citizens. He accused the Kejriwal government of looting every department, from electricity and water to roads, health, and education. “We are on the streets today to expose the corrupt and dishonest Arvind Kejriwal government,” Khandelwal said.

Similarly, Manoj Tiwari, along with Poonam Chauhan and Manoj Tyagi, led protests in Nehru Vihar, Burari, and Wazirabad Road, where they displayed “cut-outs” on the pothole-filled streets. MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, joined by councilor Seema Pandit and party workers, highlighted the poor state of roads in Palam Ward, using hoardings to emphasize the corruption of the Kejriwal government. Bidhuri asserted that the deplorable condition of Delhi’s roads is not solely due to one monsoon, but rather a result of a decade of corruption in road maintenance.

MP Yogendra Chandolia, along with councilor Gajendra Daral and party workers, protested at Mundka, where streets have been waterlogged for months, placing “cut-outs” on the potholes. He stated that the entirety of outer and rural Delhi has fallen victim to the incompetence and corruption of the Kejriwal government, leaving the area in disrepair.
