BJP holds meet with Pasmanda Muslims to clear doubts about UCC

Though the possibility of introducing a bill regarding UCC in this monsoon session is negligible, the BJP is constantly looking forward to this issue as it started a dialogue with Rashtrawadi Muslim Pasmanda Mahaz (RMPM), the largest organisation of the Pasmanda Muslims, in Lucknow in which Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India, Atif Rasheed, former Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities and Chairman of RMPM, Danish Azad Ansari, Minister of UP Government and Ashfaq Saifi, Chairman of UP Minorities Commission were present.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday held its first convention in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow to clear misconceptions among Muslims about the Uniform Civil Code. Pasmanda Muslims participated in this conference. Apart from this, from July 27, the BJP is going to start the Pasmanda Sneh Yatra across the country. This journey is going to start from Ghaziabad in UP which will travel across the country passing through Muslim-dominated areas of many states.
At the same time, the BJP is continuously running programmes to infiltrate the Pasmanda fraternity. The BJP Minority Morcha has been running various programmes for the Pasmanda Muslims for the last 10 months. Many veteran leaders of UP are participating in the Pasmanda intellectual conference.
Along with wooing the Pasmanda Muslims, the BJP also did a new experiment during the civic elections. BJP fielded 391 Muslim candidates and this was the first time in the history of the BJP when so many Muslim candidates came after winning the election. 61 Muslim candidates of BJP won the civic elections, out of which 5 won seats of the chairman.
There are about four crore Muslims in Uttar Pradesh. Out of which 80 to 85% population of Pasmanda is Muslim. In this context, there are around 3 crore people of Pasmanda community in the state. Among Muslims, people from Saifi, Ansari, Alvi, Qureshi, Mansoori, Idrisi, Salmani, Rayan communities come. The people of Pasmanda society traditionally do the work of tailor, washerman, barber, butcher, scavenger, dhunia and weaver. Although there is no caste system in the Muslim society, it is seen in the OBC category.
