BJP Boosts Presence in Kashmir Post-Delimitation: Ashok Koul Ahead of Anantnag-Rajouri Lok SabhaElection

Ashok Koul, the general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP, said that the party’s organisation in Kashmir has been strengthened as a result of the delimitation process prior to the polls in the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat on May 25.

Koul urged voters to cast their ballots on election day, highlighting the BJP’s increased presence in South Kashmir, a seat the party has never before won. His confidence in the party’s tactics was demonstrated by the fact that there were more people in the polling places than in years prior.

Koul supported PM Prime Minister Modi’s calls for increased voter turnout. Neither the Congress nor the BJP have nominated any candidates in Kashmir for this year’s election.

The National Conference, which has put up candidates for each of the three Kashmir seats, has forged an alliance with the Congress. Prominent candidates in the seat are National Conference member Mian Altaf and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member Mehbooba Mufti.

Originally scheduled for May 7, the polling was postponed due to adverse weather conditions. Jammu and Kashmir has a total of 5 Lok Sabha seats, and the voting process is divided into five phases. The general elections, spanning seven phases, will conclude on June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
