Bittu is neither a patriot, nor a nationalist; he is just an opportunist: Warring

Punjab Congress president and party’s candidate from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that the BJP candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu was neither a patriot nor a nationalist, but just an opportunist.

“Once a traitor, always a traitor”, he remarked about Bittu, while adding, “if he can betray the Congress that gave him everything, he can betray the BJP also, which cannot give him anything”

Addressing a series of public meetings here today, Warring told the people of Ludhiana not to get carried away by Bittu’s false and fake claims as he had joined the BJP after deserting the Congress only for his personal ambitions.

The PCC president observed that Bittu mistakenly assumed that the BJP was returning to power at the centre and by joining the party he may become a minister. “Bittu’s misplaced ambitions will come crashing down as neither the BJP is returning to power, nor is he going to win from here”, he claimed, while emphasizing that he had deserted the Congress just with a selfish interest and not for anything else.

Warring said, if Bittu was truly an honest person, a patriot and a nationalist, he would never have deserted the Congress party to join the BJP. He observed, it will take BJP another hundred years or more to match the Congress on patriotic and nationalistic credentials and the number of sacrifices it has given, first for getting freedom for the country and then protecting and safeguarding it.

“If for the ambition of a ministerial berth he can leave the party that picked him from ground and made him an MP thrice, tomorrow he can repeat this act of betrayal with the BJP as well”, he pointed out, while remarking, “once a traitor, always a traitor”.
