A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly placed a ₹25 lakh contract to assassinate Bollywood star Salman Khan, as per a chargesheet filed by Navi Mumbai Police.
The chargesheet followed the arrest of Sukha, also known as Sukhbir Balbir Singh, in Panipat, Haryana. He is accused of enlisting Bishnoi gang members to carry out the murder.
Police also revealed Sukha’s alleged connection to his handler, Dogar, based in Pakistan. Together with the Bishnoi gang, they planned to use weapons from Pakistan, including AK-47s, M16s, and AK92s, to execute the assassination.
The chargesheet named five other individuals and claimed that Sukha had recruited boys under 18 to assist in the plan. These boys are reportedly hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat, according to an NDTV report.
Around 60-70 people were allegedly tracking Khan’s movements at his Bandra residence, Panvel farmhouse, and Goregaon Film City between August 2023 and April 2024.
The chargesheet further outlines the shooters’ escape plan after killing the 58-year-old actor. It states that the group would meet in Kanyakumari, then flee by boat to Sri Lanka before moving on to a country where Indian authorities couldn’t reach them.
