The Bihar Police Headquarters (PHQ) has sounded a high alert across the state. Intelligence inputs revealed that three Pakistani terrorists allegedly entered Bihar through Nepal on August 15.

Officials said the terrorists are linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). They were identified as Hasnanin Ali from Rawalpindi, Adil Hussain from Umarkot, and Mohammad Usman from Bhawalpur. The trio reportedly arrived in Kathmandu during the second week of August and later crossed into Bihar.

Security Stepped Up Across Bihar

The PHQ has circulated their names, passport details, and photographs to border districts. Security has been tightened at railway stations, bus stands, hotels, and crowded areas.

A senior police officer said, “Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans have been put on alert, while airport and railway security agencies have stepped up vigilance.”

Focus on Bihar Assembly Elections

The alert comes ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Security agencies fear that the infiltration may be linked to possible disturbances during the poll season. Senior police officers have been briefed, and all district intelligence units have been told to intensify field monitoring.

The officer added, “Intelligence units are closely monitoring suspicious activities at the local level. This is not the first instance of terrorist infiltration through the Bihar-Nepal border, which has often been exploited due to easy movement.”

Public Asked to Stay Vigilant

Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate. Citizens have been urged to report any suspicious movement or individuals immediately to the police.

The Bihar-Nepal border has long been a security challenge because of its open and porous nature. The latest incident highlights the urgent need for strict vigilance and stronger coordination between agencies.

Security Gaps at the Bihar-Nepal Border

The management of the border between Bihar and Nepal is once again called into question by this invasion. The use of this route by terrorist organisations has been regularly noted by intelligence authorities. According to experts, the lack of a barrier and unrestricted travel across the border make it a simple route for illicit activity.

Security analysts also link such attempts with possible election-related disruptions. The infiltration alert serves as a reminder that terror groups often try to exploit sensitive political moments to create unrest.
