Preparations have begun in full swing for the formation of a new government as the National Democratic Alliance won the Bihar Assembly Election with a massive margin. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Gandhi Maidan in Patna to take stock of the preparations himself. People familiar with NDA said the oath-taking ceremony of the new government is scheduled to take place on 20 November at the historic Gandhi Maidan, where Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as Chief Minister for the 10th time. The officials are planning a grand event, and many well-known personalities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are expected to join the function.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for November 20, all departments are racing against time to complete the arrangements. On Tuesday, Nitish Kumar arrived at Gandhi Maidan to inspect the stage, security setup, and other preparations in detail. He toured the venue and checked every minute detail. Accompanying him were Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, and Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen.
Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit briefed him about the ongoing work. Ahead of the Chief Minister's arrival, the Chief Secretary and DGP Vinay Kumar also reviewed the security arrangements. Patna's District Magistrate, SSP, and other officials were also present. Security at the Patna airport has also been tightened ahead of the arrival of VIP guests. The event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several Union ministers, besides Chief Ministers from different states.
State BJP president Dilip Jaiswal said that the BJP and JDU legislative party meeting will be held today, where all members will elect their leader. After this, at 3:30 pm in the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, the NDA will formally choose its leader, and Nitish Kumar will then meet the Governor to claim the right to form the new government. Jaiswal added that the oath-taking ceremony will take place in a grand and celebratory atmosphere. “It is a matter of great pride for us that PM Modi will also be present at the swearing-in ceremony,” he said, adding that more than two lakh Bihar voters are expected to witness this historic event.
Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal told the media, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and all senior BJP leaders will attend on 20 November." According to him, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and dignitaries from different parts of the country have been invited. Based on the scale of election victory and public enthusiasm, he estimated that approximately 2–3 lakh people may attend the grand program.
He said the meeting of the BJP legislature party will be held on Wednesday, which will be followed by the meeting of the NDA legislators. Dilip Jaiswal further emphasized that the oath ceremony will not be a mere formality but an assurance for “developed Bihar”. This is how the NDA plans to use the swearing-in ceremony to thank the electorate and share its vision in the future of the state's development.
Advice to the Opposition Jaiswal also reacted to the selection of Tejashwi Yadav as the leader of the RJD legislature party. "If he becomes Leader of Opposition, he should play his role in a disciplined manner," he said. "The opposition should also cooperate in the mission of building a developed Bihar, as its role is not only to oppose but also to constructively contribute," he added.
