Maheshwar Hazari, the deputy speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, asserted on Sunday that Nitish Kumar is the only politician capable of become the face of the PM candidate and that the leaders of the Opposition INDIA alliance will soon make a statement regarding this.
A leader of the Janata Dal (United), Hazari was replying to inquiries on the party’s preparations for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
“CM Nitish Kumar has all the qualities needed for PM…Whenever the INDIA alliance will announce the name for the PM candidate, it will be Nitish Kumar’s name…,” he told on Sunday.
The three meetings convened by the opposition alliance INDIA bloc this year did not result in the announcement of the PM candidate for the crucial contest.
In addition, Hazariya recalled a statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he said, “If there is any tall socialist leader in the country after Rammanohar Lohiya, it is Nitish Kumar ji.”
The JD(U) leader claimed that Nitish Kumar has been the state’s chief minister for 18 years and has served five times as a minister at the federal level.
