Bihar: 5-Year-Old Brings Gun To School, Shoots Classmate

In a shocking incident at St Joan Boarding School in Bihar’s Supaul district, a five-year-old nursery student brought a gun to school and shot another student. The incident occurred today, leaving the school community and parents in a state of panic.

According to the police, the young boy concealed the firearm in his school bag. He then used the weapon to shoot a 10-year-old Class 3 student, injuring the boy’s arm. The injured student is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Recounting the incident from his hospital bed, the injured boy said, “I was going to my class when he took out a gun from his bag and shot at me. As I tried to stop him, he fired at my hand.” He also mentioned that he had no prior altercation with the shooter.

In response to the incident, the police have arrested the principal of the school and are investigating how such a significant lapse in security occurred. Authorities are also searching for the boy who fired the gun and his father.

Panicked parents flocked to the school, expressing their outrage and demanding answers from the administration. A senior police officer stated that they are instructing schools across the district to implement regular bag checks to prevent such incidents in the future.

The incident has raised serious concerns about school safety and the measures needed to ensure the security of students.
