India-Bhutan: In a significant diplomatic development, the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, is scheduled to visit India from November 3 to 10. The visit is expected to strengthen the two countries’ long-standing and unique bond.

During his visit, the King of Bhutan will be accompanied by senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan. The Ministry of External Affairs of India confirmed that the King is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming the robust ties between India and Bhutan.

Furthermore, the Ministry’s official statement stated that “the External Affairs Minister and senior officials of the Government of India will call on His Majesty the King of Bhutan,” emphasizing the significance of the visit.

Furthermore, in addition to those meetings in the national capital, the king’s itinerary includes visits to the Indian states of Assam and Maharashtra. This visit comes on the heels of a previous meeting earlier this year between the King and Prime Minister Modi, which drew widespread attention, particularly in light of the focus on the Doklam issue.

The discussions between the two leaders were described as “warm and productive,” and they led to the formulation of a comprehensive five-point roadmap aimed at further enhancing the enduring and “time-tested” relationship between India and Bhutan.
