Sahitya Kala Parishad and the department of art, culture and languages, Delhi government are bringing back the spirit of devotional music to the capital, with the Bhakti Sangeet Festival that will conclude on 24th April. At the three-day festival, celebrating the plurality of faith and expressions in devotional music, nine renowned singers from different genres of devotional music are performing. The festival will treat audiences with bhajans to sufiana kalams and devotional music in its purest form.
Today evening, there will be soulful renditions of Dr. Subhadra Desai, a classical vocalist and researcher. This will be followed by Kalapini Komkali, a noted Hindustani classical vocalist. Daler Mehndi will perform devotional songs. On 24 April evening, the audience will be treated to a melodious performance by Dr. Meeta Pandit, a Hindustani Classical vocalist. This will be followed by a performance by an intellectual, the poet turned mystic singer Dr. Madan Gopal Singh. Details:
