From Koramangala, Bengaluru, a woman was brutally sexually assaulted by four men in a horrifying event. Before they carried out the criminal, the defendant persuaded her with the bogus promise of old friends.
Between Thursday night and early Friday morning, the rape occurred on the roof of a hotel. After they committed the crime, the offenders stole the victim and forced her to leave the scene.
Victim Alerted Police Through Emergency Helpline
The lady rang emergency number 112 after the cruel incident to let the authorities know. Koramangala’s police quickly started an investigation and detained three suspects from West Bengal and Uttarakhand namely Ajit, Vishwas, and Shivu. The fourth defendant is free, and a manhunt has started by the police.
Police verified that the apprehended men were both hotel staff in HSR Layout. Gang rape is formally recorded in the case.
DCP confirms investigation in progress
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Sarah Fatima remarked that the authorities had knowledge of the crime around 730 and 8 am on Friday morning.
“Four men are involved… All the necessary procedures have been completed, including those for the victim, medical exam, and other procedures,” she informed the media
She further included:
“The incident took place early this morning, and we will learn more details during the investigation. The preliminary investigation suggests that she had gone to meet a friend.”
Victim’s Background and Well-Being
Providing details about the woman, the officer revealed:
“The victim is from Delhi. She is married and settled here.”
She also assured that the victim is in stable condition.
Rising Sexual Assault Cases in Bengaluru
This case adds to a growing concern about sexual violence in Bengaluru. In January 2024, a six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered at an under-construction site in Hoysala Nagar.
In February 2024, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara disclosed that Bengaluru recorded 444 rape cases between 2021 and 2023, with numbers rising every year.
