Bengaluru: The Ramamurthy Nagar Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a woman for allegedly obstructing the duty of a Police Inspector and criminal intimidation.

According to the complainant of the police inspector, the harassment began on October 30, 2025, when he started receiving WhatsApp calls on his official government mobile number. The accused allegedly introduced herself as a local resident and began speaking irrelevant, insisting that the Inspector “must love her.”

The FIR states that the Inspector blocked approximately 10 to 11 mobile numbers belonging to the accused after she repeatedly called him. Undeterred, the woman allegedly used new numbers, claiming she was a Congress worker with access to high-profile ministers. She reportedly sent photos of herself with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Home Minister, and other leaders via WhatsApp, threatening to use these connections to force the officer to accept her proposal.

The Inspector also reported receiving inquiries from offices of the Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, asking why he was not accepting a complaint from the woman. He clarified that she had never actually visited the station to file one.

The situation escalated on November 7, 2025, when the woman visited the police station and handed the Inspector a sealed envelope. Believing it to be a formal complaint, the officer opened it to find “Nexito Plus” tablets and three letters. One of the letters allegedly contained a love proposal written in her own blood, featuring a heart symbol and the message “CHINNI LOVE you,” alongside threats of suicide if her advances were rejected. She allegedly told the officer that he would be responsible for her death.

The harassment culminated on December 12, 2025, when the accused entered the station around 12:15 p.m. and created a scene. She allegedly raised her voice, demanding that the Inspector love her secretly or she would commit suicide, thereby obstructing his official duties.

Police investigations revealed that the accused has a history of targeting both senior and junior police officers with similar allegations. A case has been registered under Sections 132, 351(2) and 221 of the BNS. The investigation is currently underway.
