Delhi’s Water Minister Atishi directed officials today to fix the pump house at the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant, which was flooded during heavy rains, and ensure that similar issues are prevented in the future.
In a Hindi post on X, following an inspection of the Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant, she reported that unanticipated rainfall inundated the pumping station, resulting in damage to the motors.
She said, “Due to this, (water) supply was disrupted in many parts of Central Delhi. Jal Board has worked quickly to resolve this problem and the plant has almost 80 percent replies. Water supply will be back to normal soon.”
Earlier, Atishi also sat for an indefinite fast in South Delhi’s Bhogal. The purpose of this hunger strike was to petition Haryana to provide 100 gallons of water daily.
Atishi, along with other AAP leaders such as Sunita Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh, stands together on the platform.
