At INA station in Delhi, a man jumps in front of a Metro train and dies

A man in Delhi died after deliberately jumping in front of a Metro train at INA station. The incident occurred around 7 pm, leading to the tragic demise of the individual. The deceased was identified as Ajitesh Singh.

A 30-year-old man named Ajitesh Singh tragically took his own life by jumping in front of a moving Metro train at Delhi’s INA station. The incident occurred around 7 pm on Saturday, specifically when Singh jumped in front of a Samaipur Badli-bound train departing from platform number 2. According to sources, CCTV footage from the Metro station captured the distressing incident.

Responding to a call received by the police control room, a team quickly reached the spot. “Singh was identified through a call, which came on his mobile phone,” stated a senior police officer. His body has been moved to the mortuary for autopsy, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the reasons behind this tragic act.

“The body was shifted to the mortuary for autopsy. Further investigation is underway to determine the reason why he took this extreme step,” the officer added.

As a consequence of the incident, metro services experienced disruption for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, according to a senior official from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
