Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika took to X to highlight the prospects of semiconductors being manufactured in the state. “We woke up to some good news for my constituency, Jagi Road. The United States has imposed a 50% tariff on Made in China Semiconductors.
What does this mean ? The soon to be rolled out semiconductors from the Tata plant in my constituency will now be globally more competitive. This also means – more opportunities for my youngsters.

Centre approved a proposal by Tata Electronics to build a state-of-the-art, greenfield semiconductor assembly and test facility in Jagiroad, Assam.
