Guwahati (Assam), October 18: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0 at a grand function held at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Guwahati. This expanded initiative aims to provide financial support to 75,000 aspiring entrepreneurs, reinforcing the state’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship.
CMAAA 2.0 builds on the success of CMAAA 1.0, which saw the distribution of Rs. 510 crore to over 25,000 entrepreneurs across Assam. The new phase will select 75,000 beneficiaries, aiming to enhance entrepreneurial opportunities and drive economic growth in the state.
Selected beneficiaries under CMAAA 2.0 will receive financial assistance depending on their educational background:
Interested candidates can register for the scheme via the CMAAA portal (http://cmaaa.assam.gov.in), with the application process open until November 18, 2024. Eligible applicants must submit a detailed project report and meet criteria such as age (now raised to 45 years) and prior banking experience.
Chief Minister Sarma emphasized that the initiative seeks to instill entrepreneurial skills in Assam’s youth, preparing them for income-generating activities and making them eligible for central schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, which offers micro-loans for small enterprises.
The CMAAA 2.0 also focuses on mentorship, with 130 CM Fellows selected to guide and support beneficiaries from CMAAA 1.0, ensuring a pathway to success for Assam’s budding entrepreneurs.
