As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national chief Arvind Kejriwal has revealed plans for a significant announcement focusing on senior citizens. He shared this news on Wednesday, stating the initiative would be a “milestone in the Delhi model.”

“I am going to make a very important announcement today at 1 pm. This announcement will be for our elders and will prove to be another milestone in the Delhi model,” Kejriwal wrote on X.

Kejriwal Criticizes Amit Shah Over Ambedkar Remarks

Meanwhile, Kejriwal took a sharp dig at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his comments on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar during a parliamentary session. Kejriwal accused Shah and the BJP of disrespecting Ambedkar and displaying arrogance.

“See how Amit Shah ji is making fun of Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the parliament. These BJP people have become so arrogant that they don’t consider anyone as anything. Yes, Amit Shah ji. Baba Saheb is no less than God for every child of this country. I don’t know about heaven after death, but if Baba Saheb’s constitution was not there, you people would not have allowed the oppressed, downtrodden, poor, and Dalits to live on this earth. India will not tolerate Babasaheb’s insult. Jai Bhim,” Kejriwal declared on X.

CM Atishi Highlights AAP’s Work for the Poor

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, while campaigning for the upcoming elections, praised Kejriwal for his efforts to uplift the poor. During a public address in Tilak Nagar, she emphasized the transformation in the education sector under the AAP government.

“For the last ten years since Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi, he has worked for the common man of Delhi. In the history of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal is the only leader who has worked for the poor people of Delhi,” Atishi said.

She highlighted that the government schools now offer better facilities than many private institutions, showcasing AAP’s commitment to public welfare.

AAP Releases Final Candidate List for 2025 Elections

On Sunday, AAP announced its fourth and final list of 38 candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal will contest from the New Delhi constituency, while Chief Minister Atishi will represent Kalkaji. Other key candidates include:

  • Gopal Rai from Babarpur
  • Satyendra Kumar Jain from Shakur Basti
  • Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar
