Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener, met his ailing party leader Satyendar Jain in a hospital on May 28 and described him as a “brave man” and “hero.”
Last Friday, the Supreme Court granted Jain six-week interim bail on medical grounds. He’s been in Tihar Jail since the ED arrested him in May of last year in connection with a money laundering case.
According to party sources, Jain was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after collapsing in prison due to dizziness.
Kejriwal tweeted photos of his meeting with Jain, writing, “Met the brave man…….the hero.” Due to breathing problems, the former health minister was admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital and then transferred to the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash (LNJP) Hospital.
On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that Jain could receive treatment at any hospital of his choice. It also ordered Jain not to speak to the media during his interim bail period, which expires on July 11.
