Approximately 18 gold coins were discovered in an earthen jar in the village of Eduwadala Palem while excavating a borewell pipeline there.
The owner of the field in the Mandal village of Eduwadala Palem was Manukonda Satyanarayana. They discovered 17 gold coins in another earthen jar later. The farm owner informed the Tahsildar. The farm owner’s statement was recorded in front of the locals, and the clay pot and gold coins were seized.
According to Koyyalagudem Tahsildar P. Nagamani, Satyanarayana’s palm oil farm contained a total of 18 coins with 61 grammes of gold. “We moved to the farm after hearing from him, where we inquired about the gold coins before collecting them. The district collector will receive them at their workplace and deposit them in the treasury. The event has been reported to the archaeology department.”
