On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah went to Prayagraj for a one-day trip and attended the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. He took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, in the company of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and several seers.

Amit Shah Delivers Message of Unity, Harmony
Amit Shah shared a message on X before taking the holy dip. In Hindi, he wrote, “‘Mahakumbh’ is a unique symbol of the continuous flow of Sanatan culture. The Kumbh showcases the life philosophy of Sanatan Dharma, which is rooted in harmony.” He added, “I am eager to take a dip at Sangam and receive the blessings from saints at this great festival of unity and integrity in the holy city of Prayagraj.

Maha Kumbh Attracts Millions of Devotees
The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 144 years, attracts millions of devotees to Prayagraj. In fact, the festival started on January 13, with the auspicious Paush Purnima marking the start of the grand event. It is going to last till February 26. Already, more than 110 million pilgrims have immersed themselves in the holy waters of Triveni Sangam during the first 14 days of the Mela.
Devotees visit the Sangam to wash away their sins and gain moksha or liberation through the sacred ritual. With over 45 crore visitors expected, this year’s Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj is going to be one of the largest in the world.
