Amit Shah Slams Congress President Kharge for ‘Distasteful’ Remarks During Rally

Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah criticized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday, stating that Kharge had “outperformed himself, the party leaders, and the party” in being “distasteful and disgraceful” during his speech on the final day of campaigning for the third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls.

This remark came after Kharge’s speech, in which he claimed he would stay alive until Prime Minister Narendra Modi was removed from power, following a moment of feeling unwell while addressing a rally in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Sunday.

Shah took to the social media platform X, saying, “Yesterday, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji exceeded all expectations in being absolutely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech. In a bitter display of spite, he unnecessarily involved PM Modi in his personal health matters by stating he would die only after Modi is out of power.”

Shah emphasized that this behavior reflected the “hate and fear” Congress holds towards PM Modi. He also expressed a wish for Kharge’s “long and healthy life,” hoping he would witness the development of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

“It demonstrates how much hatred and fear these Congress individuals have for PM Modi, as they constantly think about him. Regarding Mr. Kharge Ji’s health, Modi Ji prays, I pray, and we all pray that he lives a long, healthy life. May he continue to live for many years and see the establishment of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Shah stated.

Earlier on Sunday, while addressing a rally in the Jasrota area, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge felt unwell due to the extreme heat, according to Congress leader Thakur Balbir Singh. After resting for a while, Kharge resumed his speech, assuring the crowd that his health was fine and he would not be leaving this world anytime soon.
