A wedding celebration in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool was momentarily disrupted when a man suffered a cardiac arrest while greeting the bride and groom.
A video of the incident shows the man, identified as Vamsi, handing a gift to the couple on a stage surrounded by joyful guests. Moments later, he began to lose his balance.
Vamsi, a young professional working with Amazon in Bengaluru, had traveled to Penumada village in Kurnool to attend his friend’s wedding. As the groom was opening the wrapped gift, Vamsi started leaning to his left and was caught by those nearby before collapsing.
He was rushed to Dhone City Government Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
Medical experts have noted a concerning rise in cases of young individuals succumbing to cardiac arrests in unexpected situations, including gyms and social events.
Dr. Ravi Gupta, Consultant Cardiologist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central, attributes this trend to factors such as diabetes, sedentary lifestyles, air pollution, stress, heavy workouts, and steroid use. He also highlighted that Indians are genetically predisposed to heart attacks, a risk exacerbated by the adoption of Western lifestyles.
