After the uproar on Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary, Akhilesh Yadav visited Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar on Thursday. There, he paid homage to Dr. Lohia on his death anniversary. Earlier, on Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav faced a gate blockade at the international centre when the LDY did not permit him entry. He later reached inside, paid tribute to JP’s statue, and on the occasion of Dr. Lohia’s death anniversary, he strongly criticised the government.
On Dr. Lohia’s death anniversary, Akhilesh Yadav, while remembering the ideals of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Mulayam Singh Yadav, spoke about strengthening socialism in the future. Akhilesh Yadav stated that inflation, unemployment, and injustice have reached their peak. He criticised the government for shutting down the museum dedicated to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan, calling it a betrayal to socialists. He accused the government of collaborating to close the museum and hiding its failures and corruption.
Akhilesh Yadav, targeting the UP Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak’s statement on JPNI cases, sarcastically remarked that they don’t respond to servant deputy chief ministers, who have destroyed hospitals. He pointed out that the poor cannot get treatment in government hospitals like Lohia or Civil. Akhilesh Yadav questioned why the government is not reclaiming the damages to the museum and the riverfront.
