Akash Anand, Bridging the Gap or Plummeting into the Abyss

Akash Anand is a young Supporter of Baba Saheb’s vision, the successor of BSP Leader Mayawati and son of MP Anand Kumar. He is the face of Bahujan Samaj Party.

The beginning of his political occurrence took place in 2017, at a rally in Saharanpur. He is prepared for 14 long years by his aunt Mayawati. Thus, in December 2023, Aakash was declared as the party’s apparent heir.  Mr Aanand got married to Dr Pragya Siddharth, daughter of former BSP MP Ashok Siddharth. The man seems to bring spring into the party’s barren land with its new energy and youth involvement. His major manifestoes lie towards bringing Dalits justice and opportunity as the party stands for. He was given the responsibility to manage the social media account and the young successor is fulfilling promises.

He expanded his hand beyond Uttar Pradesh to MP, Chattisgarh, and Telangana. As Mayawati mentioned to lead with UP and Uttarakhand whereas Anand ji will lead with the rest of the states. His idea to drag his reach is different and grounded. He invested time with college students of Aligarh Muslim University and Delhi University to take hold of young supporters cost-effectively.

In an interview with Press Trust of India, he was found not guilty of the fact of calling out BJP and PM Modi as Dictator. Furthermore, if one analyses the tussle between BJP and BSP. Margins are corresponding in the ongoing election, as there is a noticeable shift in the strategies of SP and BSP, mirroring aspects of the BJP’s approach. Both parties have reduced the allocation of tickets to their traditional caste bases. For instance, the SP has allocated only five tickets to Yadav community members, while the BSP has also decreased the number of tickets given to Jatav candidates. Although the BSP allocated 30 per cent of its tickets to Muslim candidates in UP, the SP has deviated from its previous pattern, with Muslim candidates, the party’s second most important voting bloc, receiving only 7 per cent of the tickets. With the change in pattern, an elevation in winning seats can be registered. Hence, Aakash Anand’s occupancy can either seep high or dig deep.
