Airlines Staff Suspended After Arrest in Human Trafficking Operation at Delhi Airport

In response to the arrest of four airline staff involved in an alleged human trafficking operation at Delhi Airport, Air India SATS (AISATS) has suspended the individuals from services. The AISATS CEO, Sanjay Gupta, confirmed that the suspension followed their collaboration with the Delhi Airport Authority and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) during an operation to uncover and prevent human trafficking on December 27, 2023.

CISF personnel at Indira Gandhi International Airport apprehended four AISATS staff and a passenger suspected of involvement in human trafficking. The vigilant CISF team noticed suspicious activities by a passenger, Diljot Singh, scheduled to travel from Delhi to Birmingham on Air India Airlines flight.

Sanjay Gupta stated, “Three individuals attempted to illegally migrate, and one of them was apprehended during the operation. Subsequently, the staff involved in supporting the illegal activities were suspended from services and promptly handed over to the Delhi Police for further legal action.”

AISATS, in its commitment to operational integrity, emphasized its dedication to upholding the highest standards of safety, legality, and ethical conduct. The suspension of staff members involved in the alleged trafficking underscores the airline’s responsibility in addressing such serious matters and cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
