An Air India Express flight from Tiruchirapalli to Sharjah successfully made an emergency landing at Tiruchirapalli airport after encountering technical difficulties with its landing gear. The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed the safe landing of Flight IX 613.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) monitored the incident closely, while the airport was placed on high alert. According to the Ministry, although the flight faced a technical issue initially reported as a hydraulic failure, the landing gear was operational, and the aircraft touched down without any further complications.
Airport Director Gopalakrishnan stated that the flight had to circle in the air to burn off fuel before attempting the landing. In preparation for any emergency, over 20 ambulances and fire tenders were stationed at the airport as a precautionary measure.
More details about the incident are expected to be released soon.
