Ahead of Fast Unto Death, Farmer Leader Dallewal Taken Away By Police

Few hours before he was to launch his fast unto death the police have detained farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal from his temporary shelter near Khanauri of Punjab and Haryana border, alleged farmer leaders.

However, neither the Punjab Police nor the Haryana police have made any official confirmation about Dallewal’s detention.
The farmer leaders have alleged that a police team reached their camp around 3am and they took Dallewal along by breaking the lock.
Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar said that hundreds of cops suddenly reached to the makeshift camp and forcibly took Dallewal with them. He alleged that he was not allowed to take his clothes with him. The farmer leaders have slammed the incident saying that they were not even allowed to hold peaceful protests for their demands. Hundreds of farmers from Punjab were protesting at Shambhu and Khanauri borders since February 13 after the Haryana police did not allow them to enter Haryana curtailing their Delhi March in midway.
Protesting under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha the farmers recent decided to intensify their agitation by launching an indefinite hunger strike. The farmer leaders have also given a call to start a foot-march towards Delhi as the uion government did not allow them to take tractor-trailers along. The other demands of the farmers
